Payment settles Creative's claim that Apple had illegally used its technology in its iPod mp3 players.
Apple said it will pay $100 million for a license to use Creative Technology's patented digital music player technology, settling legal disputes between the two companies.
Steve Jobs said "The agreement ends five lawsuits between the companies and removes the uncertainty and distraction of prolonged litigation. Creative is very fortunate to have been granted this early patent". Jobs said further that the settlement "resolves all of our differences with Creative."

apple is ok, their soctware works, products stylish. my qualms with them: smarmy nature of apple users-> see apple vs pc ads + the way they blatently lie about things. they even have a page dedicated to how amazing they are http://www.apple.com/getamac/
aside from that: one mouse button. FUCK OFF
(im too tired from work to rant properly, insert wit and humour in my post somewhere for yourself)

Me three.
I can't be bothered to argue, but generally along Gaz's lines.
Smarmy, metrosexual Apple users with their "ergonomic" bullshit. Makes me angry.
I laughed this morning when I heard while listening to the delight that is Ugly Phil on Kerrang that Apple are recalling millions of batteries made by Sony that have caused some users burns.
Maybe they should have tested them first.

made me laugh as well, on the apple keynote speech steve jobs said apple have made like 5 major relaeases of osx in the same time that M$ have only done sp2, what he forgot to mention is they did major changes to windows: 2003, CE, media centre and some others i can't remember. also ms have to write a platform suitable for all hardware. apple only writes for a closed set of hardware which is far far easier.
they dont have to make things backwards compatable because all the apple whores will tootle along and just buy the new hardware they need.

Anyone can write a stable OS if they know, 100%, what hardware it's going to run on.
Writing a stable OS when you have no idea what hardware it'll be on (could be a Cyrix III, could be a Pentium II, could be an Athlon FX-53...etc) is a very different story.
But Mac users will say this is a good thing, and will continue to wank over their ergonomically designed carrying handles and swanky OS. Gross.
no no one mouse button is a feature not a problem. just like error reporting in windows is a feature
i must say tho as much as people bash windows XP ive very rarely had BSOD's or times when everything has crashed in such a way i cant use windows anymore. ive had explorer crash on me, ctrl+alt+del and open a new instance and it carried on like nothing had happened.

Having said that, Im having problem with my network at the moment and instead of helping me fix it, XP just crashes every program using the internet when I try and run a repair
Grr, the amount of files its corrupted.
