Take for example, Lezzy Lizs mission to fetch the drugs from a house, then the FBI attacks when you get the case.
Ridiculously, you have to start again, whereas in SA, you'd be able to checkpoint it from arriving at the house, getting the drugs, and then any major point after.

I only did it the once you see, then turned it off in anger when it turned out the retry expected me to drve all the waythere again.

Though i'm worried, as I have one of the first xbox's and I think they're known to die eventually. I couldn't bare to lose my gta4 so far because i know i'd never be bothered to do it all again. Sometimes I miss memory cards

If your Xbox broke, you send it back without the HD. Therefore you don't lose your saves.

Ive had it crash once but mainly Its been dirty disk errors which is even more annoying because I have to go to the Xbox, eject, put it back in.

...but in general, I'm at a point where I can't go forward any further without breaking through the missions that I hate.

Finally done the FBI mission and it was easy!!
All I had to-do was sneak in via the ladder and take out only 3 of the guys in the house, so when the FBI showed up, they were fighting the thugs...the only hard part then was escpaing the police.
