Ok, we're in desperate need of the internet at work, work is boring as fuck, so we need something to pass the time.

We're half way there, as on the t-mobile site theres a "wap demo" thing, which in effect lets you on the net but the computer still thinks your on the t-mobile website. problems are, youtube and secure sites (ebay) don't work, and .asp pages don't work, so some of the things are limited.

The computers are locked down tight, nearly everything is un editable as you need "admin privlages"

The only program i can open is IE. most of the options are missing, i cant go on internet options (admin privlages). But to get the internet we need to disable the proxy (We've done it on an older one which wasnt locked down so tight)

So, we need to disable the proxy, we cant click internet options, cant run commands (although can get to desktop by typing it in the IE bar) things like control panel and stuff are not there at all....

any ideas?

Does pressing Winkey + R do anything?

A few things to try.

1) If you can get to the firefox download page, that will be by far the easiest way. Download and install firefox to a directory you have access to, and don't import any settings.

2) Have you tried logging in as the local admin without a password?

3) The fact that you have physical access to the machine means you could reset the CMOS, boot from a CD/floppy and reset the admin password.

4) Can you browse to the system32 folder in the Windows directory? If you can, find inetcpl.cpl, and see if you can run it. Sometimes you're not blocked from running programs, but just the menu option is disabled.

5) Does it have a CD drive? Put the firefox folder from another computer's program files folder onto a CD, and open it on the work machine.

You can get firefox without an install right, I think I remember reading theres a USB data stick + Firefox folder combo to get it running!

That could work, you have access to running exes right?

It needs to be set up to save the settings in an XML file (as opposed to the registry), and when it asks you if you want to import all the settings from IE, make sure you click don't import anything.

You don't install it, you just run the exe.

You could write an autorun script to make it open when put in.

he taught me that its NOT strange to have one nipple sticking out and one (i assume) perfectly fine

I have had another idea (one that would involve me being clever, and not getting fired for messing with work equipment)

basically, we're browing the net though a mobile phone browser on IE. So all the web pages think that we're on a mobile phone. (It cant run most java apps, or run complex php scripts, stuff like tbx forums don't work for example)

anyway, is there such a thing which would make the web think we're connecting through IE again instead of a mobile browser, basically tricking the system twice. i have found some proxy spoofing sites which im trying to get a work around.

here is said browser we're using

You can load all relevant Firefox data onto a flash drive and see if that works.

I doubt it would, but you could still try it.
