In all seriousness, my pc runs ep2 and portal in very high really well, but the framerate dips below 30 in major action...which is abit poop

The heatsink I wanted to use wasn't compatible with my motherboard. The backplate was all wrong, hence this pic:
I got some M4 screw-headed bolts and some wingnuts, as the heatsink itself lined up perfectly:
Beauty. Some little cardboard washers and I was well away.
Was going to go dual socket F, but I couldn't find anyone that made proper desktop-sized heatsinks for quietness and performance, they were all 1U or 2U multi-fan screamers, and I really didn't fancy sitting next to a stupidly loud PC for the sake of two monstrous CPUs when I could go AM2.
