Whereas 54% use Internet Explorer. Note that a large percentage of that is people just registering searching for horse porn and then never coming back.

I use the phrase "only" quite sarcastically to. I was quite shocked that it was so high and quite angered.

Not only does Firefox make javascript and layout twice as much work as it should be, it also means I have to use it to test things alot more. Then you have Netscape, Opera, Mozilla(firefox essentially), Avant and Maxthon to test to!

Good god MS get IE7 out and destroy them before you make web development too much work.

OMG!!! Actually, there are extensions in firefox that load the page in IE, and most users use that when a page doesnt look right.  And apparently IE7 is gonna blow.

IE7 is looking up, It wont take on Firefox mainly because people dont use FF for Firefox - they use it for its extensions and customization. Something MS cant really dabble in because of hackers.

Operas a nice browser but far too strict imho.

I also use FF for tabbed browsing and RSS, something which I've heard is spotty at best in IE7.

Tabbed browser in IE7 is far better imho. I find the tabbed browsing in FF is far too messy, you need a plugin to truely customize how it reacts to opening new links (foreground, which button, how to close them).

In all honesty Maxthon has the best tab control out of all the browsers I use.

RSS, in the beta of IE7 it isnt implimented properly, however the next version is improved with icons signifying whats going on with what feed and when...but it remains to be seen how it goes.

Do you use wuggawoos feed?

IE is sloppy. Firefox is the best to code for, because you know it will end up how you want it to.

IE always messes things up that look perfect on other browsers. If Microsoft didn't mess around implementing their own little code extensions and generally changing how HTML works for their own needs, we wouldn't have any of this.

Firefox follows the standards, and is far more stable and trustworthy for it.

I have an entire book detailing which tags work in which browsers and how each one messes it up in it's own special way. Quite interesting, if you like that sort of thing.

Ive also started monitoring guests browsers, the one time visited via refers or just guest logged on the site for the first time. Its quite shocking that Mozilla is equal to IE...not firefox, but Mozilla.

Very strange

To your first point, no, you don't. It's a menu within the main Firefox options, and has been for a while.

I used Maxthon for a day, and I thought it blew.  It feels like half a browser.  Doesnt have nearly the polish that FF does.

And I dont use Wugga's feed, I use RSS for news and for the Mozilla update site to see what new extensions and themes come out.

The options in the firefox tab setting are crap, nowhere near as good as the ones in Maxthon. Again thats why Firefox has so many tab extensions because the browser doesnt allow for enough options.

I fail to see how Maxthon is half a browser, but whatever.

How are the tab settings crap?  You choose to open links in a new tab, the same tab, or a new window.  What else do you need?

And BTW, the whole point of Firefox is to expand it with extensions.  That was the whole goal of the project, so that you could put in everything you wanted and nothing you didnt.  So where you would like tab settings, I could really care less, and the extensions we would both use would reflect that, rather than both of us having to use a browser that was loaded down with features we neither wanted or needed.  So your point about the extensions to compensate for the lack of options within FF is partly true, but it isn't because Mozilla sucks.

And Maxthon is just IE with tabs anyway.  Firefox is awesome because right now I have a built in media player control, weather forecast, a sidebar for downloads and my extension and theme lists, and gesture support.

I can never EVER configure firefox tabs settings to get it just how I want, I always need an extension (there was a thread about this a while back).

You can get extensions for Maxthon that do everything you just said aswell.

BTW who REALLY uses gestures? I turn them off in Maxthon, so useless.

Exactly, if I wanted gestures I can go turn it on, it was nice to see an option for them, I dont want them, so I turned them off.
