EA Games CEO John Riccitiello said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that yearly sequels are alienating consumers, much to the surprise of incredulous gamers everywhere.

"For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat," he said. "There's been lots of product that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before."

Riccitiello went on to state that the industry needs more innovation if it is to survive.
